Enjoy Our Beautiful Beaches
From the sparkling Channel Islands Harbor to our beautiful white sand beaches, Oxnard truly is a jewel by the sea. The broad, sandy beaches are a visitor highlight. Oxnard’s beaches have beautiful sand dunes, sunsets, and offer beautiful views of the Channel Islands. Uncrowded, the beaches are fabulous for surfing, swimming, biking, roller blading and simply taking in the coastal sun.

BEACHES OF OXNARD

HOLLYWOOD BEACH
Enjoy this broad mile-long strip of white sand and take in views of the Channel Islands. You can bask on the sand, paddle in the Pacific, or play volleyball on sand courts. Public Restrooms are at the North end of the beach and parking is fee on the street or at the adjacent Channel Islands Harbor. Lifeguards patrol between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

MANDALAY BEACH AT OXNARD PARK
A beautiful park with sweeping lawns backs this broad strip of white sand beach. You can fly kite, throw a Frisbee, or enjoy a picnic at one of the many barbecue areas. You'll also find volleyball courts, path for inline skating and jogging, and a large covered picnic area available by reservation. Rehab Point at Oxnard Beach Park Provides wheelchair/disabled access through the dunes to the ocean. Parking is available in a pay lot by the park entrance (1601 South Harbor Blvd, 805.385.7995).

ORMOND BEACH
Birding is excellent along this two-mile stretch of Oxnard's shoreline between Port Hueneme and Point Mugu Naval Air Station. This is one of the few remaining tracts of coastal habitat in Southern California. The Coastal Conservancy is currently restoring the wetland and grassland habitats. In the future, visitors will enjoy a wildlife preserve, nature trails, and an environmental education center.

SILVER STRAND BEACH
This mile-long stretch of silvery beach is the pride of local surfers. It's also a beautiful spot to relax in the sun. Public restrooms are at the north of the beach and parking is free from sunrise to sunset in two lots: one adjacent to San Nicholas Road, the other adjacent to Sawtelle Avenue. Lifeguards patrol between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

PORT HUENEME BEACH PARK
Hueneme ('Why-NEE-Mee") comes from the Chumash Indian word for "resting place", and this newly landscaped 50-acre park with a mile-long strip of soft white sand is the perfect place to do just that. Cast a line from the fishing pier (no permit required), hunt for clams and seashells, or just sit back and watch the surfers. Facilities include picnic areas, barbecue pits, snack bar, and restrooms.
