Cherelle first rose to fame in the mid 1980s. Her signature hits include “I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On” “Where Do I Run To,” “Everything I Miss At Home,” and more. Cherelle also released a string of duets with R&B singer Alexander O’Neal, such as “Saturday Love” and “Never Knew Love Like This,” as well as “Always,” a duet wither cousin Pebbles.
With his silky smooth, straight-from-the-heart soulful style, Howard Hewett is gifted with one of the most instantly recognizable voices in contemporary music. A writer for Rolling Stone once described him as, “the premier vocalist in the post-Marvin Gaye era of romantic pop. He first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the group Shalamar, but has also enjoyed a successful solo career. Shalamar hits include “A Night To Remember,” “Make That Move,” “The Second Time Around,” “Dead Giveaway,” and more. Hewett’s solo hits include the tunes ‘I’m For Real,” “Stay,” “I Commit To Love,” “Say Amen,” “Show Me,” and man more. Hewett has recorded on numerous movie soundtracks including the multi-platinum Footloose and the first Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, which landed him a Grammy for “Don’t Get Stopped In Beverly Hills.”
Club Nouveau originally formed in 1986 in Sacramento, California. Their first three albums were released on Warner Bros. Records, and their “go-go” version of Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me” captured the Grammy for Best R&B Song in 1987. Other big hits include “Why You Treat Me So Bad,” “Jealousy,” “Situation,” “No Friend of Mine,” and more.
