Oxnard Celebrates California Wine Month in September!
California Welcome Center Oxnard Features Discounts & New Offerings along the
Ventura County Wine Trail

Oxnard, CA – Oxnard celebrates California Wine Month in September with special offerings at the California Welcome Center located at the Collection Riverpark in addition to local wine tasting rooms.

During the month of September, the California Welcome Center (CWC) Oxnard offers a 10% discount on the purchase of wines featured in the Ventura County Wine Trail.  The CWC located in the Collection Riverpark Shopping Center in Oxnard, houses a wine tasting room featuring many of the wines along the Ventura County Wine Trail.  Visitors can sample and or purchase the wines of their choice.

Some 13 wines are featured at the CWC including four new additions:  Alma Sol, Boccali, Sunland, Labyrinth, Strey, Sunland and Vinemark.  Other wineries featured at the CWC are Herzog, Magnavino, Panaro and Rancho.

The wine tasting room is equipped with two Italian-made Wine Emotion machines, each kept at temperatures suited to red or white wines.  To activate the machines, visitors simply insert access cards and select four to eight wines to taste, at a cost of $10 or $20.  Each taste is 1.5 ounces or a standard tasting room pour.

A select number of featured wines are also sold by the bottle to consumers and corkage fees are waived for bottles displaying the CWC’s special sticker when visitors dine at participating restaurants inside the Collection as well as participating restaurants included in the Ventura County Wine Trail Guide.

To celebrate California Wine Month in September, several of Oxnard’s wineries are providing visitors with tempting offerings.  Rancho Ventavo Cellars located in historic Heritage Square challenges visitors to ‘save water during the drought in California by drinking wine!’  The winery is reducing the price of all of its 2006 vintage wines to $19 per bottle, formerly $30 on seven different varieties.  Magnavino Cellars offers 2 for 1 wine tastings plus 10% off wine purchases.  Strey Cellars, located adjacent to Magnavino also offers 2 for 1 wine tastings.

A stop in Oxnard wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Herzog Wine Cellars, an all Kosher, modern and stylish winery featuring artisan wines.  The winery contains a wine tasting room in addition to self-guided tours of the facility.  And, Herzog is home to Tierra Sur Restaurant offering five star cuisine and a 28 Zagat rating.

Visitors can stop by the CWC and obtain a Ventura County Wine Trail Guide which lists all the wineries located along the trail in addition to a handy map to help locate each of the stops.
