Summer is just around the corner, and Oxnard is the go-to destination for FREE outdoor summer concerts! After a fun-filled day visiting the beach and dining at one of our restaurants, our seaside city offers spectacular outdoor venues where you and your family can enjoy a musical fun-filled evening.

Catch a country music sensation performing along the water at the Channel Islands Harbor. Get lost in the rhythm of a jazz band, or just enjoy rocking out to your favorite hits from throughout the decades with premier cover bands at our own charming Heritage Square, where Oxnard’s finest homes of the past live on. Whatever your musical taste, you won’t want to miss this summer’s line up.

Natalie Gelman – Contemporary & Folk

Often compared to Sheryl Crow, Jewel and Joni Mitchell, Natalie’s music is contemporary and timeless. She writes honest, heartfelt songs – responding to current affairs and revealing parts of her inner self with the world. “Not too much about her, but somehow about me & everyone in the audience as well.”

A modern day troubadour, Natalie performs across the country tirelessly and recently completed her first 10 week European tour in support of Streetlamp Musician. An album she released with producers Charlie Midnight (James Brown) and Mark Needham (The Killers) and titled after a song she wrote about street performing and watching New York City change over time. Come join us and watch Natalie’s stunning performance.

The Colette Lovejoy Band – Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul, R&B

The Colette Lovejoy Band performs pop, rock, funk, soul and R&B tunes from the 60s to today. Think Aretha Franklin, Staple Singers, Janis Joplin, Heart, Chaka, Khan, and Tower of Power.

The lead singer, Colette Lovejoy, has a voice that most fans don’t believe can come out of such a tiny frame. Colette is backed up by veteran vocalist-multi-instrumentalist Jerry Breiner, bassist extraordinaire Glade Rasmussen, and the driving beat of veteran drummer-vocalist Pete Gallagher (formerly of Weird Al Yanokovic’s band).

In Contempt is a classic rock ‘n’ soul band, known for its soulful, energetic performances, a tight, in-the-pocket groove and a repertoire of all those great Classic Rock, Soul and Motown songs that make you want to dance and groove. The band performs songs by The Temptations, The Four Tops, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Cee Lo Green, The Doobie Brothers, Eddie Money, Santana, Ray Charles, James Brown and many, many more.

Though based in San Pedro, the band’s members come from diverse backgrounds, both musically and geographically. From East Coast to West Coast, Midwest to The South, from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Soul and R&B, each member brings their own unique and extensive musical experience to In Contempt.

Teresa Russell & Tom Buenger – Blues, Rock

Teresa and Tom are one of the most dynamic guitar/harmonica duo around. They joined forces by a mutual interest of Blues, Rock, and Gospel.

Teresa is the only female to ever qualify” in the top eight” for the national finals in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame/Guitar Center’s lead guitar competition, Guitarmageddon. Competing with over 2,000 guitarists across the country, she accomplished this by winning the West regional in Los Angeles where she received “out-of-seat-thumbs-up” kudos from such Grammy award, celebrity judges/guitarists as Steve Lukather (Toto) and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol). Join us and celebrate the end of the summer with this amazing performance.
