Here in Oxnard, there is no shortage of female boss ladies who run and operate tourism businesses that we love. In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, we want to highlight women business leaders here in Oxnard.

From restaurants to epic tourism experiences and adventures, here's a list of women-owned businesses to support right now.

OTANI'S SEAFOOD

608 South "A" Street Oxnard, CA 93030

Karen Baldonado and her daughter Tani Carlton continue the family tradition of serving delicious seafood at an affordable price at Otani's Seafood. Karen's grandfather, Izzy Otani, opened the first business in 1908, a block away from the current "A" Street location. For over 110 years, the family business has been a staple in Oxnard.

Karen's favorite part about working at Otani's is working with her team.

"I love my staff, and I really enjoy interacting with our customers. I wouldn't be here without my staff by my side; I view them, and a lot of our regulars, as an extension of my family."

“I have lived in Oxnard my entire life, so I love that we get to do something fun and exciting for our community,” says Paola.

“We get to meet and interact with people every day, one outfit at a time. It makes me happy when I’m out at a dinner or running errands, and I bump into people wearing an outfit they bought from us, or we helped them choose. It’s exciting to see, and I’m happy we can do that locally where I grew up!”
