Spring Break in Oxnard – Beaches without Crowds

With weather averaging in the high-60s between March and April, you'll find perfect conditions to throw out a towel and bask in the sun while the little ones play in the waves.

Get the kids out of the house for Spring Break, and book a trip to Oxnard to enjoy seven miles of uncrowded golden-duned beaches.

From west to east:

Mandalay Beach and Oxnard Beach Park

Spend the day at Oxnard Beach Park (olol’koy Beach Park) and see why it was voted #1 Best Beach on the West Coast. Stroll down a paved boardwalk lined with towering palms leads the way past rolling lawns to Mandalay Beach. At this beach, you'll find reservable covered picnic areas, volleyball courts, a children's playground, and plenty of opportunities for jogging, bicycling, skating and recreating in general.

Stop by Ox & Ocean at Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, voted #1 Best New Hotel across the U.S., for hors d'ouevres and poolside drinks, or walk a short distance up Wooley Road to The Shores Bar & Restaurant, where you can sample farm-to-table fare including The Shores burger, lamb lollipops, halibut tacos and the quinoa buddha bowl.

Book a tee time, then catch a ride into town for a fun and affordable game of golf at River Ridge Golf Club, where you can practice/play where the SCGA Juniors train. Juniors 7 to 17 welcome!

Hollywood Beach

Sunbathe between the Channel Islands National Park and stunningly colorful beachfront homes on this stretch of sand, so named 'Hollywood Beach' for its popularity with movie stars at the turn of the twentieth century. Here, you'll find Hollywood Beach Cafe and some of the best eateries and water activities in the Channel Islands Harbor within a short walking distance at Marine Emporium Landing. Kids will love opportunities to kayak, go boating as a family and more! For a break from the sun, wander through a treasure trove of maritime paintings, ship models and artifacts at Channel Islands Maritime Museum.

Silver Strand

A popular local's spot, surfers from all over flock to Silver Strand Beach year-round to catch the perfect wave. Here, you'll find walls of colorful painted murals along the eastern end of the strip and a nearly 50-year old sunken ship near La Janelle Park. For lunch, fill up on sandwiches, seafood and pasta at Oxnard's local hot spot The Strand Bar & Grill, Silver Strand's only full-service restaurant located just steps from the beach. After, you can catch an afternoon play at Elite Theater Company.
