Occurring in early December, the parade takes place in the historic downtown near Plaza Park. Did you know that Downtown Oxnard was designated by the The CA Arts Council as a Cultural District in Oxnard? This is one of the many reasons Plaza Park is such a special central hub for significant events. The celebration brings out the whole community. It regularly involves local schools, businesses and organizations. On a beautiful day, see the parade floats with holiday performers and hear the marching band’s trumpets ring in the season.
What to Expect at the Oxnard Christmas Parade
A variety of experiences make the Oxnard Christmas Parade unique to the city. You’ll see creatively decorated floats reflect our coastal vibe, equestrians clip-clopping elegantly on horseback, and vibrant marching bands in uniform from local schools and more. The event spreads cheer and smiles as the decorated floats and costumed performers march down the street reflecting the pride for the city and communities within it.
Follow the Christmas Parade Route
Downtown Oxnard is highly walkable and you can see the parade from many spots in the downtown area. The parade will start at the intersection of Ninth Street and ‘A’ Street. It will continue through the Historic Plaza District near Plaza Park on ‘A’ Street, passing Eighth, Seventh, and Sixth Streets. It will make its way onto Fifth street and pass Centennial Plaza and circle around Plaza Park. After this, the parade continues down ‘C’ Street before ending on Second street near the Oxnard library. The sidewalks and walkable downtown areas offer ample viewing spots for the parade nearly wherever you watch from!
