Visit Oxnard Recognized as One of Central Coast’s Best Places to Work – Second Year in A Row.

Oxnard, CA – Oxnard is not only a great place to visit, but it’s also a great place to work according to the Pacific Coast Business Times, which will publish its list of the “Central Coast’s Best Places to Work” in its May 22 special report.

Led by President & CEO, Julie Mino, Visit Oxnard will be recognized in the small business category of 25 employees or less.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Visit Oxnard organization, I want to congratulate Julie Mino and her awesome team, on once again being named one of the best places to work on the Central Coast!” stated Steve Buenger, Visit Oxnard Board of Directors Chair and owner of Buenger Commercial Real Estate. “It takes effective leadership and a good deal of trust, to create and foster a true “team environment” in the workplace. Julie has empowered her team and believes that all contributions are critical to the growth and success of the organization. We are fortunate to have a highly qualified and energetic workforce, and we look forward to what the future will bring for this great organization,” he added.

Group Sales Manager, Courtney Freeman, joined the Visit Oxnard team after their first win and is honored to be present the second time around. “Joining an already established team is always a little nerve racking. The Visit Oxnard team welcomed me with open arms and made me feel so comfortable. To have the opportunity to return to Oxnard and sell the city where I was raised with a group of phenomenal women is something I do not at all take for granted,” said Freeman.

Director of Marketing & Communications, Brittney Hendricks, has been a member of the team for both wins and says, “We’re grateful to receive the award for a second year. Each member of our team contributes to Visit Oxnard’s phenomenal work culture, so this truly is a shared honor,” she said. “Our team is grateful to our leadership for creating a collaborative environment that encourages open innovation, cocreation, coproduction, and mutual support.”

The longest tenured staff member, Michelle Flippo, Office Manager, has worked for Visit Oxnard about six years, and President & CEO Julie Mino is in her third year leading the organization. Visit Oxnard is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 17 members representing Oxnard’s hotels, restaurants, attractions and key City personnel.

The Pacific Coast Business Times, a weekly business journal of record, serves Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties. The publication produces eight award events each year including the Central Coast Best Places to Work award. Julie Mino will attend the recognition event on behalf of Visit Oxnard this November 2020.
