Oxnard is THE place to be this holiday season with an array of great events for residents and visitors alike.  From tree lighting ceremonies and nightly light shows to holiday parades on land and sea, get ready for things to get jolly this December!

Tree Lighting Celebration at The Collection at Riverpark – November 19th

The Collection at Riverpark

Revelers are invited to rock the holidays at The Collection at Riverpark’s Tree Lighting Celebration taking place on Saturday, November 19th at 6 p.m.  The event will feature a holiday concert by Stone Soul, a laser light show and the inaugural tree lighting.  The night which is free to the public, will finish with a spectacular holiday fireworks show.

Downtown Oxnard Tree Lighting Ceremony – December 2nd

Don’t miss the 67th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown Oxnard on Friday, December 2nd.  Join community leaders, downtown merchants and friends for a fun and festive night filled with holiday music, complimentary refreshments and a visit from Santa himself!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony has long been a staple event for Oxnard in City’s downtown square – Plaza Park, located at 500 South C Street.  Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with song, music and dance from local groups, and culminates with the lighting of the square’s Christmas tree.   Plaza Park’s 110-foot Christmas tree is the largest in Ventura County.  The tree and pagoda in the plaza will be sure to sparkle and wow, adorned with more than 30,000 lights.  The event ends with a special visit from Santa. 11th Annual Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show – December 2nd through January 1st

From December 2nd through January 1st, enjoy a nightly holiday light show complete with holiday music, animated characters and more than 30,000 colored lights.  A high-tech interactive experience, the music and light show incorporate the square’s pagoda and trees, including a 110-foot tall Christmas tree.  The show is free to the public and on display from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Plaza Park at 500 South C Street.

55th Annual Oxnard Christmas Parade – December 3rd

A, 5th and C Streets, Downtown

Downtown will host a Christmas parade complete with colorful marching bands, equestrian units, local school groups, spirited holiday floats and the man of the hour – Santa!  The parade takes place 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3rd.  Find a spot on the route which includes A, 5th and C Streets in downtown Oxnard.

Parade of Lights – December 10th

Channel Islands Harbor

There is nothing like sparkling lights in the harbor at night.  There is nothing like  the annual Parade of Lights which delights thousands of visitors every year with a cavalcade of decorated boats.  The event includes a number of activities beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Marine Emporium Landing.   Children’s activities abound including snowplay in the morning and a chance to meet Santa.  The event also features an artists market, strolling caroler and more.  This year’s parade which is themed “Hooray for Hollywood” begins at 7:00 p.m. and promises to celebrate the area’s silver screen history.  The parade is free to the public and can be viewed throughout the harbor.  Waterfront viewing is available from some restaurants and boat charters.  The event takes place Saturday, December 10th.  For more information, visit www.channelislandsharbor.org.

Gingerbread Houses on Display – December 1st – 17th

The Friends of Heritage Square would like to invite you to view the creation’s from children, adults, businesses, or organizations for their 8th Annual Gingerbread House Contest. Their hands were hard at work creating a delicious masterpiece out of gingerbread, icing, and any other edibles you can think of. More Information

Christmas Victorian Home Tours – December 3rd – 31st

Heritage Square, Downtown

Take a tour of the houses in Heritage Square all dressed up for Christmas! Docents, dressed in period clothing, guide visitors through the 1800’s-style Victorian houses that are filled with history and storybook tales. A blend of interior tours and vignettes. More homes open during this tour than the regular year-round tour. Call for reservations or weekday appointments. Recurring weekly from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday. More Information

Annual Oxnard Tamale Festival – December 3rd

Plaza Park, Downtown

The annual Oxnard Tamale Festival, held in conjunction with the Oxnard Christmas Parade in downtown Oxnard, will feature authentic home-style tamales served by local restaurants and vendors. The festival will include tamale making demonstrations, eating contest, live mariachi music from Oxnard High School and local group Inlakech, raffles, arts & crafts for kids, and a visit by Santa Claus. More Information

Holly Trolley Tours – December 13th, 14th, 15th

Dine downtown and then board the open-top double decker bus for the “Downtown Holly Trolley Tour”. The 50 minute tour highlights include the Christmas Tree Lane in the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District, a stop at Heritage Square to see the Gingerbread houses, and the Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show in Plaza Park. More Information
