Oxnard is transforming into a winter wonderland this holiday season, with events and attractions that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.  From tree lighting ceremonies and festive tours, to festivals and parades of lights, Oxnard is spreading the cheer to visitors and locals of all ages!

Tree Lighting Celebration at The Collection at Riverpark – November 18th

Eat, Drink and be Merry at The Collection at Riverpark’s Tree Lighting Extravaganza!  The event will include holiday entertainment from The Voice contestant Julien Martinez, along with performances by the Ventura Ballet Company and the Rubicon Theater. Along with a visit from Santa, a new beverage garden with holiday inspired refreshments for those ages 21+ and a brilliant tree lighting ceremony finishing with fireworks. The event is free and the $5 charge for the beverage garden will benefit Food Share. Festivities start Saturday, November 18th at 7:00 PM.

Downtown Oxnard Tree Lighting Ceremony – December 1st

You won’t want to miss the 67th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown Oxnard.  Come celebrate with Oxnard’s community leaders, merchants, friends and family for a fun filled evening of festive music, complimentary refreshments, and a special guest appearance from the big man himself-Santa!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony is a beloved kick off to the holiday season in the community. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with songs and performances from local groups that all lead up to the lighting of the tallest Christmas tree in the County! The display of over 30,000 lights, along with a visit from Santa will fill you with holiday cheer and usher in the season. The event is located in the City’s downtown square – Plaza Park, at 500 South C Street December 1st, and the best part? It’s free! For more information call 805.247.0197.

12th Annual Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show – December 1st through January 1st

Light up the night with the extraordinary  holiday light show, a computer orchestrated light show synchronized to your favorite holiday tunes. Consisting of over 30,000 lights, animated characters, lit trees, and music, this interactive display is fun for all ages. The show is free to the public and on display December 1st through January 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with shows starting every 15 minutes at Plaza Park at 500 South C Street.

56th Annual Oxnard Christmas Parade – December 2nd

A, 5th and C Streets, Downtown

Come find your Christmas spirit at Oxnard’s annual Christmas parade. Enjoy a festive fanfare starring animated characters, marching bands, equestrian units, school groups, themed floats, and of course- Santa!  The parade takes place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2nd.  Find a spot on the route running through A, 5th and C Streets in downtown Oxnard.

Parade of Lights – December 9th

Channel Islands Harbor

Watch the water illuminate with your favorite fairy tale creatures at the Channel Island Harbor’s “Fairy Tales Afloat” themed Parade of Lights. Every year thousands of visitors are delighted with an exhibition of decorated boats and the magic of Santa and his reindeer flying through the night sky. The day begins at noon at the Marine Emporium Landing with live music, snow play, holiday artist markets, an appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus, children’s activities and more. The event takes place Saturday, December 9th   with the parade beginning at Peninsula Park and running through the Main Channel.  For more information, visit www.channelislandsharbor.org.

Gingerbread Houses on Display – December 9th – 31st

Heritage Square, Downtown

Come see the delectable dwellings put on display by the Friends of Heritage Square. Community members have been hard at work turning our favorite holiday treats into works of art. The display will be open to the public from December 9th to December 31st at 731 S A Street in Heritage Square. More Information

Christmas Victorian Home Tours – December 2nd – 31st

Heritage Square, Downtown

Our classic Victorian homes in Heritage square have decked the halls and you don’t want to miss the chance to see them. More homes open during this tour than the regular tours that occur year-round and includes docents dressed in period clothing, that guide visitors through 1800’s Victorian style homes filled with history. Call for reservations or weekday appointments, recurring weekly from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday. More Information

Annual Oxnard Tamale Festival – December 2nd

Plaza Park, Downtown

Held in conjunction with the Oxnard Christmas Parade in downtown Oxnard, The Oxnard Tamale festival celebrates one of the most delicious holiday treats! The event features authentic home-style tamales served by local restaurants and vendors who will compete for the title of best tamales. The festival will also include tamale making demonstrations, eating contest, live mariachi music from Oxnard High School and local youth cultural group Inlakech, raffles, arts & crafts for kids, and of course a visit by Santa Claus. More Information

Pour yourself some hot chocolate and walk or drive through this holiday wonderland of decorated houses on “F” & “G” Streets between 5th & Palm, in the Oxnard National Historic District OR ride the Holly Trolley! Be sure to keep an eye out for appearances from Santa and the holiday carolers for some added holiday cheer! More Information
