Best Coffee Shops in Oxnard

Not a morning person? We get it. Our typical wake-up and go routine is incomplete without a stop at a local coffee shop, too.

Although we love our regular orders from Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Allegro Coffee Company, there’s something special about visiting independent local coffee shops. So, when thumbing “best coffee oxnard,” into your smart phone’s Google app, we hope you’ll pull up a chair at the coffee bar and check out some of Ventura County’s best local coffee roasted right here in Oxnard.

Dolce Vita

Strut down Oxnard Boulevard toward Downtown Oxnard's 4th Street Dolce Vita. Here, you'll find 100% natural Italian gelato that is gluten free, free of growth hormones and contains less fat than ice cream! You'll also find single origin Intelligentsia coffee and a small sandwich (egg & ham; turkey sub) menu. When you have guests posting about their experience, "Best coffee in Oxnard," and "Best gelato everrr!" you know you're in for a treat.

Heritage Coffee & Gifts

Enter a cozy vintage craftsman-style farmhouse in the heart of Downtown Oxnard's Heritage Square, where you can snuggle up with a book in front of a fireplace and order some incredibly unique lattes or a straight-up cup of joe. Our top three picks from Heritage Coffee & Gifts include: the horchata latte, the vanilla-lavender latte and the turmeric latte, all of which can be ordered hot or over ice.

Honey Cup Coffeehouse and Creamery

One of Oxnard's officially recognized green businesses, Honey Cup Coffeehouse and Creamery offers an incredible menu of great Italian-brewed coffee and tea drinks, quick-service breakfast & lunch, pastries and ice cream by 805 creams, including some alcohol-infused ice cream flavors. Enjoy after hours events with Chef Alex Montoya as he creates frozen treats that are as much a work of art as they are a party in your mouth! Rumchata ice cream, anyone?

Mrs. Olson's Coffee Hut

Step into a tropical paradise at Mrs. Olson's Coffee Hut, one of the best breakfast restaurants in Ventura County. You'll find dishes like chilaquiles, the surfer's burrito, rainbow trout and eggs and more. Dine on their sand-covered patio for marina-front views of the beautiful Channel Islands Harbor. While outside, pull a colorful lifeguard chair up to their window to enjoy an insanely delicious, no-nonsense cup of black coffee from Farmer Brothers, grown and manufactured right here in Oxnard.

Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters

Ragamuffin Oxnard embodies third wave coffee culture as one of only two company locations. Therefore, kick into high gear with the crisp Nitro cold brew on-tap from Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters – they've got java down to a science. Each cup is carefully crafted with a precise coffee-to-water ratio. Pressurized with nitrogen, each pour bubbles with a foamy finish leading to faster caffeine absorption. Above all, get your cup to-go in one of their hydroflasks to cut down on disposable cups.

XIELO ARTISAN DESSERTS

Like a shop you'd find in the heart of San Francisco, inside Downtown Oxnard's historic Woolworth Building, Xielo Artisan Desserts is a family-owned reposteria boasting a menu that includes traditional Mexican hot chocolate and thick Spanish-style hot chocolate, all made with craft cacao from Oaxaca. If you love La Colombe, you'll love Xielo's coffee: Xielo features a Mexican coffee from the state of Veracruz made from imported blends of coffee beans cultivated in Mexico's fertile southeast region. Moreover, the team at Xielo makes its savory beverages daily from family recipes and are the perfect complement to their delicious treats.
