Visit Oxnard (previously Oxnard Convention & Visitors Bureau) is the destination marketing organization working hand-in-hand with the City of Oxnard and its hotels, transportation entities, restaurants, retailers, attractions, historic districts and more. Visit Oxnard is an independent, public non-profit 501 (c) (4) organization funded by a 2 percent tourism assessment charged by area hotels with 55+ rooms as well as a yearly contracted amount from the City of Oxnard.
Mission: To promote and market Oxnard as a premier leisure and business travel destination, bringing significant economic and social benefits to our community.
Brand Promise: Oxnard promises an unforgettable escape where culture, coastline, and community converge. Rooted in diversity of cultural heritage and a deep musical soul, Oxnard offers real value for families, adventurers, and group travelers alike. We invite visitors to experience a vibrant blend of tradition, rhythm, and outdoor discovery, all in a destination that feels as welcoming as it is authentic. This is how we drive tourism, deepen connection, and grow lasting visitor engagement.
Values: Our promise goes beyond the visit. It’s rooted in truth, inclusion, and connection. Oxnard is committed to showcasing an experience that reflects the diversity of our people and the authenticity of our place. We value representation in our storytelling, sensitivity in our outreach, and integrity in every message we share. By uplifting local businesses, honoring our residents, and fostering strong relationships with community stakeholders and leaders, we ensure our brand delivers not only on its promise to travelers, but on its responsibility to the community that makes Oxnard “a beat apart” from competing SoCal coastal destinations. And by encouraging meaningful stays that support local hospitality and deliver real economic value, we strengthen both the visitor experience and the community that welcomes them
