Hobie Beach offers a launch area for kayaks and stand up paddleboards. The rocky shoreline is also a great place to bring the kiddos because the seas are calm and protected from the waves.

Hobie Beach is located at 2974-3098 S Victoria Ave, Oxnard, CA 93035. It’s next to Kiddie Beach. Parking is free, and there are plenty of local restaurants nearby.

Plan a beach day at Hobie Beach and watch the sailboats and people kayaking nearby. The water is calm, making it an excellent environment for small children who want to swim. There are also public restrooms and outdoor showers nearby to rinse off sand after a day on the beach.

Hopper Boat Rentals – Choose between a single kayak or a double for twice the fun. Life vests and short tutorials are included with your rental.

Channel Islands Kayak Center – Explore sea caves at Channel Islands National park or paddle around the harbor. Here you can rent kayaks by the hour or sign up for the full-day island tour.

Wild Blue Adventures – Embark on a wilderness trip at Anacapa Island. The guided kayak tour is three hours and includes a paddle, helmet, life vest, and a single or double kayak.

Swimming

During the warmer months, this small rocky beach can get packed. It’s approximately 400 feet long. Check water quality signs before swimming, and always keep your eyes peeled for kayakers and stand up paddleboarders.

The Strandwich- From breakfast burritos to burgers, this local spot is open from 11 am to 6 pm. They also have a kid’s menu featuring chicken tenders and a turkey sandwich. They are closed on Mondays.

The Strand Bar & Grill - If you’re in the mood for a quick bite before you head to the beach, this locally owned joint has been serving up meals since 1985. On the menu, ribs, antipasto, and a full bar. The Strand Bar & Grill is closed on Tuesdays.

Hobie Beach has a parking lot, bathrooms, and outdoor showers.

Dogs are allowed on Hobie Beach anytime as long as it's on a leash.

Open flames are not allowed at County beaches; this includes portable fire pits and portable grills.
