The firework display blasts off from the Naval Base in Port Hueneme at 9 pm on the Fourth of July. Here are three perfect locations for unobstructed views.

Channel Islands Harbor

Enjoy fun activities all day long then wrap up the day by enjoying the fireworks seaside. A perfect way to cap off the day, bring a lawn chair and blanket to cozy up to loved ones beneath the night's intensely bright explosions of glittering light!

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Starting at 7 pm, parts of Channel Islands Boulevard will be closed to vehicles; plan to arrive early, or park and walk.
  • Police will begin directing traffic at 7 pm at all intersections on Victoria Avenue, Fifth Street and Harbor Boulevard.
  • Parking on-site can be tricky; plan to arrive early to allow enough time to find parking and walk to your chosen viewing site. Or, ride your bike if you live nearby to avoid parking altogether!

What to Bring

  • A blanket, towel or folding chair
  • Snacks, water and/or a warm beverage (hot chocolate is our favorite!)
  • Comfortable shoes for walking in case you can't find parking nearby
  • A jacket (it can get chilly by the water)
