Looking for a spooky good time this Halloween? From costume contest to trick or treating and pumpkin decorating contests, Oxnard is full of good fun to celebrate the spookiest day of the year!

On Saturday, October 27th from 4-7pm, Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard will transform into a spooky, kid-friendly Halloween haunt. The event features a free costume contest (registration required), a Trick-or-Treat village and booths packed full of goodies and games. With other free activities like bounce houses, crafts and face painting, kids will have a howling good time!
Fresh fruits and veggies aren’t the only things you’ll find at the Channel Islands Harbor Farmer’s Market on October 28th. Bring the kids and enjoy a morning of trick or treating, a costume contest with prizes and a pumpkin decorating contest. Don’t miss the fresh daily seafood catch from local fishermen, live music and more!
Not exactly a Halloween event – this fun costumed festival is a celebration of the fantastical and fascinating at Heritage Square in downtown Oxnard. Free for those under 15 years of age, the festival on October 13-14 celebrates the blend of Victorian Era style and technology with Science Fiction and Fantasy thrown in for fun. Costume contests, food, merchant bazaar and parasol duels will be a blast for the whole family.
The Collection in Riverpark hosts a fun and free evening for families every Halloween season. On October 30th, grab a passport map and head to one of the numerous Collection merchants for trick or treating. Once your passport is complete, you’ll be entered to win a Spooktacular Collection Grand prize. Registration is required and information will be available on October 1.
A Catholic celebration of All Souls Day, Dia de los Muertos celebrates the life of the deceased with prayer, music, dance and altars. Hosted on October 27th from 10:30am – 5pm in the Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, highlights include food, live performances, art exhibits and booths.
On October 20th, you’re invited to enjoy a free screening of the movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webbers famous ‘Phantom of the Opera”. Afterward, grab tickets and join theater staff for spooky behind-the-scenes tour of the haunted theatre. Tickets are $10 for children 12 and under and $20 for adults. Buy them online in advance to reserve your tickets.
